BLASCHKO - ‘Cell Migration’
Spanish Alabaster (Pink)
22 H x 9 W x 6 in.
Blaschko’s Lines, first described by Alfred Blaschko in 1901, map the invisible patterns formed by cell migration as the human body develops in the womb. While carving this pink Spanish alabaster, the flowing layers of white and gray within the stone reminded me of those same subtle, inherent pathways; an echo of the softness, complexity, and quiet beauty of our own skin.
