Diary of a Sculpture under Quarantine...
Hi, our name is Thisbe…We live at the T Barny Gallery & Sculpture Garden where people come to touch and turn us. What we love most of all is when someone adopts one of us and takes us home to be part of a family. However, with Covid 19, we are under quarantine and sheltering in place. You cannot come and see us and we miss that. You can visit the T Barny website and find out how you can adopt one of us. Even under quarantine we can be shipped free directly to you by professional art shippers. We look forward to having you touch and turn one of us but meanwhile enjoy this video.
By the way, Thisbe is a character that appears in the work Metamorphoses by the Roman poet Ovid. She lived in Babylon, and was the lover of Pyramus, both living in connected houses, but forbidden to marry by their parents, who were rivals. So they spoke through a hole in a wall. The hole in the sculpture represents a way for love to shine through all obstacles.
