See Art in action at T Barny’s Sculpture Studio

Sculptor T Barny invites visitors into his Alexander Valley studio for two weekends of art, stone, tools, and conversation on October 10–11 & 17–18, 2026

The studio will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM, offering visitors a rare opportunity to step inside a working sculpture studio, see works in progress, explore finished sculptures, and learn how T Barny transforms blocks of stone into his distinctive curvilinear forms.

At 11 AM and 3 PM each day, Barny will offer special Stone Carving Demonstrations. Visitors will learn about the tools and techniques he uses, hear how he approaches direct carving without models, and follow the process of creating a sculpture from rough stone through carving and polishing. Guests will even have a chance to pick up a hammer and chisel and try carving marble themselves.

“For more than 45 years, I have worked directly in stone, allowing the material to guide each sculpture as it develops.” T Barny’s work is known for continuous edges, negative space, and forms inspired by Möbius and trefoil geometry. His sculptures range from intimate tabletop works to monumental public installations and are held in collections in 26 countries.

This Studio Tour is an opportunity to experience sculpture where it begins: surrounded by stone, carving tools, and the unmistakable evidence of an artist at work.
