SPIRAL CURVE – ‘Hunter Kirkland Show Title’
Monterrey Marble
I collaborated with my colleague Laura Wait on this piece, using images of the calligraphy artwork that would be showing alongside my sculpture at a Hunter Kirkland Contemporary exhibition. I superimposed this calligraphy on a rubber blasting mask, then sandblasted it in layers into a slab of Monterrey Marble. To me, the piece looks like a shard of some ancient or alien writing.
