SEGUE - ‘Uninterrupted Transition’
Arizona Sandstone\
Originally, a term used in a musical score to indicate that the next movement or passage is to follow without a break. With Segue I wanted to illustrate the transition from the smooth inner surface of the stone moving outwards along the sometimes extremely delicate mobius line to the natural edge of the Arizona Sandstone. The base is made from the polished core taken out of the center of the sculpture. Sandstone is a clastic sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized mineral particles or rock fragments; composed of quartz or feldspar because they are the most resistant minerals to weathering processes at the Earth's surface.
